Bride alert...for all you "soon to be" brides, head to New York for everything from Bridal Gowns (Vera Wang) and Wedding Rings (Tiffany's) to Wedding Venues (Brooklyn Bridge) and Wedding Receptions (World Yacht Cruise around Manhattan), the "The Lipstick City Guide to New York" has it all....and is just £15 on Amazon...
Ice Skating in New York at this time of year is magical, with the Wolman Ice Rink in Central Park one of my favourites....especially as the light fades and New York twinkles into nightime. Other rinks you might like to try are the Rockefeller Centre and Bryant Park for a magical moment in the midst of the "Big Apple"...

Lipstick City
Shimmering skyscrapers edge long shaded avenues
Crossing streets that stretch for miles
Eclectic shops are brimming with people
All friendly with welcoming smiles
Rivers surround and roam round Manhattan
Hugging these coveted shores
Pockets of sunshine weave through the traffic
Honking their Yellow Cab horns
Buildings like Empire, Chrysler and LipstickHave views that change day by day
Staten Island, the Bronx, the Hamptons and Brooklyn
Exist in their own special way
Cafes are filled with enticing aromas
Restaurants beckon and tempt
Wide open spaces ooze music and Shakespeare
As buskers work to pay rent
Hundreds of accents, millions of people
Mingle, connect and survive
As the big juicy apple continues it’s journey
And New Yorkers move on with their lives
